LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Metro Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin wants the community to join in on a fight against a proposed liquor store for the Newburg neighborhood.
The new store is proposed for 4845 Poplar Level Road.
Shanklin is concerned as well as neighbors, she says, because they believe there are too many liquor stores in the area and they do not need another one.
Her next protest is scheduled for July 16 at 6 p.m. in front of the liquor store on Poplar Level Road.
