Cold rain, sleet, and snow!

Most of our area will have a bunch of cold rain, but some areas will see more slushy accumulations Saturday!

A low-pressure system will be moving through Kentuckiana bringing a bunch of cold rain, and also some sleet/snow for areas just northeast of Louisville.

The highest snow potential will be for areas around Seymour to Madison, Indiana, to New Castle and Frankfort, Kentucky (see snow map below). Those areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory with 1-3" of a slushy accumulation possible. Locally higher amounts are possible, especially the farther northeast you go toward Cincinnati.

Now, for most of the WHAS11 viewing area, cold, wet and breezy conditions are expected. 1-2" rainfall totals are expected. We don't need this rain, and some localized flooding and ponding of water on roadways will be possible. No flooding is expected for the Ohio River.

Thankfully, the whole weekend is not a wash-out. Enjoy some dry time on Sunday!

If you're heading out for the Rodes City Run 10K or the Louisville City FC Match, bundle up and be ready for the wet and breezy weather!

We do expect milder weather next week, but unfortunately, more rain chances for much of next week!
