LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Summer camp is an experience most children never forget and a few “bravehearts” received a special send off Sunday.

Camp Bravehearts is a special summer camp for children battling congenital heart issues.

They can experience summer camp and all the fun it entails under the watchful eye of doctors.

Madison Jones, 14, says his favorite part of the camp is horseback riding.

“You get to meet all the people at the stables and you get to ride the horses and you get to groom the horses – probably something you don’t get to do like anywhere, so it’s like a good thing to do.”

Camp Bravehearts is supported through the Children’s Hospital Foundation at Norton.

Every camp attendee will enjoy a full week of fun, free of charge.
