LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Breonna Taylor’s next door neighbor is suing the Louisville Metro Police Officers that executed a no-knock warrant on March 13 killing Taylor, saying their negligence and shots almost struck someone in their apartment.
Napper says officers approached the apartment on March 13, immediately next door to her apartment, in a manner that kept them from being detected by neighbors.
The lawsuit filed on May 20 by Chelsey Napper, Cody Etherton, and Zayden Flournoy allege the shots fired from Brett Hankinson, Myles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly, had a total disregard for the value of human life shooting blindly “nearly shooting Cody Etherton in the head.”
According to the lawsuit, gunshots struck objects in Chelsey Napper’s apartment living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, and shattered her sliding glass door.
Napper was pregnant at the time and express their reckless actions caused emotional pain, post-traumatic stress, as well as damages within their home.
Napper is seeking a trial, compensation for punitive damages, and attorney fees to be paid moving forward.
