Louisville, KY (WHAS11) - UPDATE: The precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted for the Lyndon, St. Matthews and New LaGrange areas. After testing the water, the Louisville Water Company has confirmed that the water is safe to drink.

Checklist:

- If your refrigerator has an automatic ice machine, allow the receptacle to fill twice and discard the ice.

- If you have a chilled water line on your refrigerator door, allow it to run for approximately one minute before using the water.

- If you’ve been away during the advisory, allow the cold water to run from the highest point in the house (typically a bathroom) for five minutes.

A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for the Lyndon, St. Matthews and New LaGrange areas due to several main breaks that occurred early this morning. If you live in this area you are urged to boil water before using for drinking or cooking.

Here's what you should do:

• Bring all water used for drinking, food preparation and coking to a rolling boil for three minutes before consuming.

• Not use chilled water lines in refrigerators.

• Not use ice from automatic ice machines.
