LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- A long-time company in Bardstown, Ky. announced on March 6 it's closing in early 2019.
American Greetings announced it will close in February of next year. It currently employs about 450 people.
That facility opened back in 1984 and was responsible for greeting card manufacturing. It has had a series of layoffs, part of it due to the changing demand for greeting cards.
American Greetings in Bardstown was known at one time for producing Christmas cards for the nation's President.
