LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – An auto dealership in the 6300 block of Preston Highway caught fire on Feb. 21.

Carter’s Auto Sales opened six months ago, it used to be Noel’s Auto Sales, according to one employee who has worked there for nearly ten years.

“I just got off the phone and then I heard a boom, really loud,” Dawn Quiggins, an employee who was inside at the time, said.

Fire investigators are still looking into what started the fire, but said no one was injured.

Quiggins told WHAS 11 there was one car in the shop at the time, but no other cars were damaged. Paperwork, however, was destroyed.

“Unfortunately, a lot of our titles that we've already got, of course, are in ashes, so we're looking through. But where we got the cars, I think we can come up with titles again, so it's not a big deal,” she said.

Fire crews are calling this a total loss, but Quiggins said they plan to keep the shop open and just operate out of another building until they're able to rebuild.

“Hopefully we just carry on, just put this behind us, and do what we need to do, and continue on,” Quiggins said.
