LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Three people are recovering after being shot early Sunday morning, Dec. 11, at a University of Louisville off campus apartment complex.

Multiple sources said two of the victims are football players, James Hearns and Henry Famurewa.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Two were taken to University Hospital and one other person showed up at Jewish, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department. The injuries are non-life threatening.

James Hearns is a Junior Linebacker. He's originally from Tallahassee, Fla. The second victim is Henry Famurewa. He's a sophomore Linebacker from Powder Springs, Ga. The third shooting victim is a female. She has not been identified but she is a UofL cheerleader.

John Karman, director of media relations with the University of Louisville, said only two of the victims are students at the university.

Jayvon Smith, a sophomore who lives at the apartment complex, said many students were at a watch party for Lamar Jackson, who is bringing back the school's first Heisman Trophy, when the shooting happened.

"It’s always someone who comes from out in the city that usually have weapons or that mean to do any type of harm or violence but I just think the city of Louisville is really dangerous right now,” Jayvon Smith, who lives at The Retreat Apartments, said.

No arrests have been made in this case.

Police said they still do not have any suspects.

Many students WHAS11 talked to said they're disappointed that the historic night of the Heisman victory had to turn to tragedy.
