19-year-old charged with murder after shooting at Big-O Tires

Bobby Powell is charged with murder after a shooting at a Jeffersonville Big-O Tires.

JEFFERSONVILLE (WHAS11) – The Jeffersonville Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that happened at the Big-O Tires, located on Allison Lane, and one person, a 19-year-old, is charged with murder.

The shooting was reported at 11 a.m. and when officers arrived at the scene they found a Big-O employee who had been shot. That person was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Bobby L. Powell, 19, of Jeffersonville is accused of fatally shooting a person. He also is an employee of Big-O. Powell was still at the scene of the shooting when officers arrived.

The investigation is ongoing. WHAS11 asked about an Instagram post that is being shared in regards to this shooting and the police are aware of it, it is a part of the investigation. 

JPD said this is an isolated act of workplace violence, which stemmed from a verbal altercation between Powell and the victim.
