I-65S open in Hart County after fatal accident

WBKO in Bowling Green reported that a car going the wrong way on the interstate hit a charter bus on I-65S, killing one person.

HART COUNTY, Ky. — One person died in an accident on Interstate 65 near Munfordville early Thursday morning, shutting down the interstate for several hours.

The accident was reported just before 5 a.m. on June 20 at the 68-mile marker of I-65S, about 75 miles south of Louisville. Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said that multiple vehicles were involved and that the crash did result in at least one fatality. Southbound lanes have been shut down as reconstruction and clearing operations are underway.

WBKO in Bowling Green reported the accident was caused by someone in a car driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes and hitting a charter bus. One person in the passenger car was killed in the crash. The driver of the charter bus and some of the passengers were injured as well.
