Brian Bowen will not play basketball at UofL

Bowen will not play at the University of Louisville

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – Brian Bowen, the student-athlete named in the FBI investigation into a pay-for-play scheme, will not be playing at the University of Louisville.

Bowen will be provided with written permission to contact another college institution if he wishes to transfer. UofL says, if he decides to stay at UofL he can still receive his athletics scholarship but can’t be allowed to practice with or compete for UofL’s men’s basketball team in the future.

“Brian has been a responsible young man for the institution since he enrolled,” said UofL Interim Director of Athletics Vince Tyra. “He has endeared himself to his teammates and the men’s basketball staff with a positive attitude during a very difficult period.”
