HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. — Hardin Memorial Health is doing their part to help fight opioid abuse.
They announced they will join the new Kentucky Statewide Opioid Stewardship program. It helps hospitals across the state reduce overprescribing and improve safe opioid use.
The program will help develop standards around opioid prescribing, assist hospitals with implementation of standards and improve education around pain management.
Right now, Kentucky ranks among the top 10 states with the highest opioid-related overdose death rates.
