Hugh Grant, 57, marries for the first time to girlfriend Anna Eberstein, reports say

British media reported on Friday, Hugh Grant has married for the first time.

(USA Today) - Love, Actually star Hugh Grant is a married man for the first time at 57.

The British star tied the knot with his Swedish television producer girlfriend Anna Eberstein, 39, in a low-key civil ceremony Friday, People magazine and Reuters reported.

Photos show Grant and Eberstein, who have three young children together, leaving London's Chelsea Register Office in London. Beaming, they posed for pictures on the steps outside with a small group of family and friends.

The happy couple were casually dressed. Grant wore a dark blue suit and tie while showing off a noticeably large wedding ring that featured three red stones (In-Style magazine proclaimed the ring "bonkers"). Eberstein was dressed in a blue shirt, that matched her husband's, and white skirt while donning a simple gold wedding band.

Grant's publicist did not respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.

The actor broke into super-stardom playing commitment-challenged, but love-struck, Charles alongside Andie McDowell's Carrie in 1994's British smash hit romantic comedy Four Wedding and a Funeral.

The actor has been in many high profile long-term relationships, including British star Elizabeth Hurley, but has always dismissed the idea of matrimony.

“I’m not really a believer in marriage,” Grant told PEOPLE in 2015. “I’ve seen very few good examples, maybe five, in my life, but I think otherwise it’s a recipe for mutual misery."

News of the pending marriage to Eberstein was revealed on May 21 when photographs of their required wedding announcement — or banns — were posted in British newspapers.
