LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A mother of 8 has been identified following a Thursday shooting that left another man injured.
The coroner says 40-year-old Nachan Henderson was killed from multiple gunshot wounds.
Henderson was a passenger inside the vehicle as it was found riddled with bullets on 8th and Breckinridge Streets which also struck a telephone pole.
Details surrounding the shooting remain unclear but family members of Henderson believe she was getting a ride from the male victim and was not the intended target.
Metro Police say there is a strong possibility the shooting could have happened a block or two away.
They are checking out area businesses who have surveillance for possible clues.
The male victim is still in serious condition at University Hospital. His identity has not yet been released.
