GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) — Two people were shot in Grayson County after confronting individuals they observed attempting to steal from their property.

Kentucky State Police said Johnnie Hayes, 59, of Caneyville, and Wanda Ferguson, 39, of Rosine, were shot on Richland Road at around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning after they followed and confronted people who attempted to steal items from a barn on their property.

The two sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wound injuries. Hayes was flown to University of Louisville Hospital and Ferguson was flown to Vanderbilt University and was later released.

The investigation is ongoing and no suspect(s) have been charged.
