Teens arrested after brazen carjacking in Pleasure Ridge Park

Two suspects are in custody following a brazen carjacking in southwest Jefferson County Saturday night.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — It was a scary moment caught on camera Saturday night - a man hanging on to the back of his truck trying to stop three teens from a carjacking.

"When they jumped into the vehicle, they turned to the kids and said, 'Get out or I am going to shoot you now,'" said the woman, who did not want to be identified.

She says her kids weren't harmed, but her husband suffered cuts and bruises. Her husband and children were picking up food at a PRP Chinese restaurant near the intersection of Greenwood and Terry Roads Saturday night when surveillance cameras caught three teens carjacking the truck.

She says workers at nearby businesses have noticed similar attempts in the past. "They all confirmed that those kids were in those locations as well and they frequented that location often."

The teens were found in the parking lot of a PRP post office Sunday morning. The woman confronted them after she says they were trying to steal another vehicle. They took off. Her son gave chase while she called police.

"The guy was still wearing the same clothes from last night; the UK hat and the red shoes and he was actually on his cell phone bragging about what he did to us last night."

LMPD searched the area from the ground and the air, eventually arresting two of the teens. Eighteen-year-old Bradley Tayler and Cornillas Miles, also 18, are charged with receiving stolen property.

The 15-year-old suspect has not been arrested.

The family's truck was recovered about three miles from where it was stolen.
