Police in Lexington make 4th arrest in shooting death of 15-year-old

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – Investigators with the Lexington Police Department arrested a fourth individual they say is connected to the shooting death of 15-year-old Trinity Gay.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – Investigators with the Lexington Police Department arrested a fourth individual they say is connected to the shooting death of 15-year-old Trinity Gay.

Lamonte A. Williams, 20, is charged with wanton endangerment.

The deadly shooting happened on Sunday, Oct. 16, at a restaurant parking lot in Lexington, in the 800 block of Broadway.

The Lexington Police Department said witnesses reported an exchange of gunfire between two vehicles before 4 a.m. Sunday.

The Lexington Police Department’s investigation revealed and detectives said it was determined that Williams and three other individuals, fired multiple gunshots. Chazerae Taylor, D’Markeo Taylor and Dvonta Middlebrooks were arrested Sunday and also charged with wanton endangerment.

The Lexington Police Department said their investigation remains active and is in the early stages. They say they are still gathering forensic, digital, testimonial and other evidence and any evidence that is recovered will be sent to the Kentucky State Police Department.

Gay was a runner, just like her father, Olympian Tyson Gay. Family and friends held a vigil for her on Oct. 17. At least 500 people flooded the high school track, where the vigil was held.
