Man arrested, charged in June shooting death of 2 teens

Police say 18-year-old Shawn Hollingsworth has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of first-degree assault.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Metro Police have made an arrest in connection with the June shooting deaths of two teenagers.

Shawn L. Hollingsworth, 18, is facing two counts of murder and one count of first-degree assault in the incident that happened on June 23 in the 3600 block of Parthenia Avenue.

Robin O’Bryant, 17, and another victim were found shot to death inside a vehicle. She recently graduated from Fairdale High School and would have celebrated her 18th birthday Monday.

O’Bryant’s family spoke out Sunday during a press conference asking the community to stop the violence.

“Please pray for us. Pray for the family, pray, pray, and pray – but like my sister said, we have to take action and that’s what we intend to do – take action,” O’Bryant’s grandmother said.
