LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Four people were taken to the hospital Wednesday night after a police pursuit that started in downtown Louisville and ended in Shelby County.
According to Dwight Mitchell with Louisville Metro Police, officers found a car on Berry Boulevard at Peachtree Ave around 11:45 p.m. that was believed to be stolen in a recent carjacking. The officers attempted to stop the car, but it sped away.
Officers pursued the vehicle onto the Watterson Expressway and then onto I-64E. The car, which was speeding, eventually rolled over and crashed on I-64E in Shelby County, around the 39 mile-marker, according to police.
There were five people in the car at the time of the pursuit and the crash. Four of the five were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No LMPD officers were injured in the pursuit.
According to police, charges are pending and the incident is still under investigation. The identities of the suspects involved have not been released.
