LMPD arrests man following Louisville gas shooting in Smoketown

A 33-year-old will be arraigned on Monday following a Saturday night gas station shooting that injured one person.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police made an arrest after a shooting was caught on a surveillance camera.

It happened around 8:30 Saturday night at the BP gas station on the corner of East Broadway and Hancock Street, in the Smoketown neighborhood.

Thirty-three-year-old Munye Adan is charged with first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.

Police say Adan admitted to accidentally shooting a man and placing the weapon in the bathroom after officers arrived on scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he is in serious condition.

Adan is being held at Metro Corrections on a $25,000 bond. He's expected in court Monday morning, May 21.
