Kroger shooting suspect appears in federal court on hate crime charges

Bush is accused of shooting Maurice Stallard and Vickie Lee Jones at a Louisville Kroger store in 2018.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — (WHAS11) -- Gregory Bush, the man accused of killing two people at a Jeffersontown Kroger, appeared in court on Jan. 7.

This was Bush’s first appearance in federal court on hate crime charges.

Police said Bush shot Maurice Stallard and Vickie Lee Jones at that Kroger store just minutes after he tried to enter a predominantly black church in Jeffersontown.

Bush plans to plead not guilty and will be represented by the federal offender's office.

He has already pleaded not guilty on state murder charges
