Body camera shows Shepherdsville officer dragged by car

It began as a traffic stop and quickly turned dangerous for one of several officers on scene. Body camera footage from Officer R. Besednjak shows his interactions with a woman he pulled over for a suspended license.

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11)--It's the view from a Shepherdsville police officer's body camera that's giving more insight into the night he was run over by a driver.

It began as a traffic stop and quickly turned dangerous for one of several officers on scene. Body camera footage from Officer R. Besednjak shows his interactions with a woman he pulled over for a suspended license. Her name is Taira Litsey.

Upon telling Litsey this, she gets back into the car looking for her information in the glove box, while the officer talks to her passenger, 28-year-old Logan Lamb.

"Do you even have a license or no?" Besednjak asks.
"I think mine is also suspended," Lamb says.
"Yours is also suspended, too? What's your name?" Besednjak asks.
"Logan Lamb," Lamb says.

Officer Besednjak goes to his car to run the information. Meanwhile, Officer J. Sanders approaches the car.

"Where's your keys at hun?" Sanders asks.
"Right here," Litsey says.
"Let me see them for a second. Thank you," Sanders says.

Officer Sanders places the keys on the hood of the car. Officer Besednjak realizes they can't let Litsey go with just a ticket.

"She's got like three felony 10-85s," Besednjak says.

When he tells Litsey to get out of the car, she reaches for the keys.

"No, just come out. No," Besednjak pleads.
"All I gotta do is roll the window up," Litsey yells.

Then, you hear screams from Officer Besednjak, now being dragged by the car as the suspect drives off. Her tires run over his legs and even then, Besednjak runs back to his car yelling for his comrades to go after her.

"Get her, get her, get her, she's wanted for felony assault!" Besednjak yells.

Three officers run to their cars to chase Litsey and Lamb, eventually stopping to check on their partner.

"What's hurting Rocco?" one officer asks.
"Just where she drug me. The tire ran over my back leg," Besednjak says.

They begin discussing Litsey's criminal history.

"Dispatch, of course, never even mentioned this. The whole time she's got assault 2nd, assault 3rd on a police officer," Besednjak says.

"She knew it all. She was acting nervous. That's why I took keys away and put it on the roof," Sanders says.

Officer Besednjak was taken to the hospital and released the next day. Kentucky State Troopers arrested Litsey and Lamb two days later in Louisville after releasing body camera images of their photos to the public.

Litsey is currently being held at Metro Corrections on a $50,000 cash bond and Lamb is jailed on $5,000.
