1 dead in New Albany shooting, police say

Police say 29-year-old Tyler Williams was shot and killed around Cross Creek Blvd. Thursday night.

NEW ALBANY, Ind — The New Albany Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened at Cross Creek Blvd. Thursday night. 

According to NAPD, at 10:44 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police identified the man as 29-year-old Tyler Williams of New Albany.

"The men and women of the NAPD are working diligently to identify the facts surrounding this case. New Albany remains a safe community with dedicated police professionals who work tirelessly to provide quality service to its residents," Chief Todd Baily said.

NAPD Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the shooting and have identified all parties involved.
