UPS raises starting pay for some employees

Starting pay for Next Day Air and Second Day Air employees is increasing.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — UPS is raising wages for some employees starting in September.

Beginning Sept. 5, starting pay for Next Day Air employees on the night shift will increase to $21 per hour, up from $18.50. Second Day Air employees who work during the day will be paid $20, up from $16.50.

In 2020, UPS increased pay for package handlers and other entry-level operations positions from $14 to $14.50 per hour.

The company announced a hiring event in July as it saw continued increase in ecommerce shipping volume. To apply at UPS, applicants can go to UPSJobsKY.com.
