LOUISVILLE (LBF) -- The question of a Topgolf at Oxmoor Center will be considered by a Louisville Metro Council subcommittee next week.

The proposal to build the 62,000-square-foot golf driving range and entertainment complex at the site of an abandoned Sears store at Oxmoor Center has been assigned to Louisville Metro Council's Planning, Zoning and Annexation Committee on Tuesday, Nov. 13. The case will be heard during the subcommittee's 1:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall.

The move comes after the Louisville Metro Planning Commission unanimously approved a rezoning request and a development plan by Dallas-based Topgolf International Inc. for the complex last month. The company also is seeking a series of variances regarding its height and setbacks and a lighting waiver from the city, all of which were approved by the planning commission on Oct. 18 after more than 11 hours of public testimony.

The Planning Commission also approved binding elements for the complex, including a requirement that Topgolf must close by midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Topgolf also must dim its field lighting by 50 percent at closing time and turn off its lights two hours after closure.
