Louisville barber donates pairs of shoes to the community

If you'd like to help, here's where you can donate items.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville barber is giving out more than just haircuts to his community. Julius Wilkinson has made it routine to give out pairs of shoes as well.

Wilkinson owns Big City Styles on Chestnut Street in downtown Louisville. He said the idea to give back to his community started small, just with his own shoes.

Now its a full community drive with donations pouring in for people of all ages and interests.

"I ended up having to put a bigger table out with more shoes on it. My wife decided she wanted to put a few out and we just started doing that," he said.

Wilkinson said before he know it other were asking to donate shoes and people were telling him he would need an even bigger table.

"My clients wanted to feel good as well, they wanted to feel the blessings and so they were bringing up pairs of shoes," he said.

If you'd like to help, you can donate items at Wilkinson's barbershop any day of the week.
