Ale-8-One Glazed Chicken Wings

Ingredients (Wings):

18 Chicken Wings

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Salt

Pepper

Ingredients (Glaze):

3/4 c. Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce

1/3 c. Ale-8-One

1/4 c. Honey

4 tbsp. Brown Sugar

2 tbsp. Lemon Juice

1 tbsp. Sesame Oil

1.25 tbsp. Corn Starch

2 tsp. Hoisin

2 tsp. Garlic Powder

Directions:

1.         Preheat oven to 425F.

2.         In a bowl, coat chicken wings with EVOO and liberally season with salt and pepper.

3.         Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; place chicken wings on the baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes.

4.         While the chicken wings are baking, combine soy sauce, Ale-8-One, honey, brown sugar, lemon juice, sesame oil, hoisin, and garlic powder in saucepan. Over low-medium heat, whisk until all ingredients are uniformly combined.

5.         In a small bowl, mix the corn starch with equal parts water. After combined, add to the saucepan and whisk. This will serve as a thickening agent for the glaze.

6.         Remove chicken wings from the oven. If there is excess oil on the aluminum foil, remove wings from previous foil and replace with a new sheet.

7.         Liberally brush each wing with the Ale-8-One glaze.

8.         Return wings to oven and allow to cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Ale-8 Buttery Biscuits

Ingredients:

4 c. baking mix (i.e. Bisquick)

1 c. Ale-8-One

1 c. sour cream

1 stick of butter

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 425F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the baking mix, Ale-8-One, and sour cream. Mix well (I use a rubber spatula/my hands) until fully combined. I wouldn’t recommend using an electric mixer, as you do not want to over mix. Also, just for your information, this is a sticky dough.
  • Using either your counter or a large cutting board, sprinkle the surface with flour/baking mix and use your hands to knead the dough. Roll it out to roughly half an inch thick.
  • Place a stick of butter in a glass baking dish and place in the oven. Do NOT let it burn; however, do let it fully melt, leaving the bottom of the pan covered in layer of butter.
  • Cut out your biscuits and place them in the butter-filled pan.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. Keep an active watch on the biscuits!
  • Let the biscuits sit in the pan for 5-8 minutes, as they will absorb the butter.
  • Enjoy!
