Construction is underway on Veterans Memorial Park, a new 66,000-sq.-ft. area in Crestwood, KY to honor the sacrifices of veterans from Revolutionary War to the current day. Retired U.S. Army veteran Don Helton chairs the park's board of directors, and he tells us it’s not just happenstance that the park is being built near a four-school complex. Located near the entrance of South Oldham High School, students will be directly involved in the park’s development, and in programs designed to provide education on military history. On Saturday, May 19, 2018, A Tribute to Veterans will be held in the South Oldham High School gym with a special program and flyover taking place at Veterans Memorial Park afterwards.
