LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The WHAS Crusade for Children has been sustained for 66 years by thousands of volunteers.

The Highview Fire Department is using the skills of one of its volunteers, even after his passing, to remember him and to raise money for the children the Crusade serves.

Bill was an avid woodworker.

A month before his accidental death he gave wood to Highview Fire Chief Dave Goldsmith, also a woodworker.

Dave has taken that wood to create a bench in Bill's honor which is being raffled off to raise money for the Crusade in 2019.
