CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (WHAS11) – A Charlestown, Ind. Family is preparing for a second trip to Los Angeles, Calif. after winning the $10,000 prize on America’s Funniest Home Videos’ March 20 episode.

The winning video was recorded during Troy and Yvonne Bowling and Bobby Glover’s hand at playing Ellen Degeneres’ game called “Heads Up!” on Cindy Bowling’s phone. Troy Bowling, Yvonne Bowling and Bobby Glover can be seen in the video attempting to play, but they can’t get anywhere because Yvonne says the word displayed on the screen every time.

The rule of the game is not to say the word but to get another person to say that particular word by describing it.

In this video they were trying to get Cindy Bowling, Troy and Yvonne Bowling’s daughter, to guess the word.

Cindy Bowling, can be heard saying, “Well Mom, don’t say it.”

The video was dubbed “Grandma’s Game Goof” by AFV and you can watch it below.

The video was actually recorded at least three years ago and wasn’t sent to AFV at first. It was originally submitted by Cindy Bowling to the Ellen Degeneres show.

She thought Ellen would’ve found the video hilarious but she never heard from Degeneres’ show.

But when AFV called her she almost didn’t pick up the phone.

“I just remember the first time I ever saw the call, it said Los Angeles, California. I was like, yeah right. I really thought it was someone trying to sell me a credit card…I almost didn’t answer it,” Cindy Bowling said. “But I did.”

According to Cindy Bowling, AFV didn’t understand how the Heads Up! game worked and AFV even called her multiple times to ask questions about the video to make sure it was not set up in any way.

“He said, ‘I don’t really understand what you are doing. It’s hilarious but we don’t really know what you’re doing,” Cindy Bowling said as she described one of the phone calls.

During one call she told AFV her mom was not instructed to do anything before they played the game.

“Finally, I said to him…If you knew my mom, you would know that was my mom,” Cindy Bowling said. “We did not tell her to read the word.”

Dina Schafer, Bobby Glover's daughter, said she has joked with Cindy Bowling since the video won that they could really send a video to AFV every week.

“They really should just do something called grandma’s corner and we could send them a video every week,” Schafer said.

Cindy Bowling’s family enjoys playing games and she says they play a lot of card games, like Rook and Euchre, and Minute to Win It games. She calls herself the “game guru” because she organizes the games for her family to do on vacations and gatherings.

“Well, like on Christmas Eve, they’re just dying for what are you going to do this time,” Cindy Bowling said.

Yvonne Bowling could not make it to the AFV taping, even though the show wanted her to come, or be interviewed, due to health issues.

Cindy Bowling and Dina Schafer said the video is a testament to the way they really act in their daily lives. Bobby Glover, Yvonne, and Troy Bowling have known each other for years since growing up together in Eastern Kentucky.

They all said the experience of flying out to Los Angeles was very unique and although they didn’t get to do much sightseeing it was still enjoyable.

“It was a great experience for us with our fathers,” Dina Schafer said.

Cindy said it was amazing to be a part of the making of the show.

Cindy and Troy Bowling, Dina Schafer and Freddy Glover will be heading out to Los Angeles on April 17 to tape another episode of AFV because the video is in the running for $100,000. The taped show will air sometime after April 17 and you can always watch AFV on ABC at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
