NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WHAS11) – The 51st annual CMA Awards took Nashville by storm Wednesday night. The show was full of incredible performances, including tributes to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting. There were also plenty of unique collaborations with artists like Maren Morris and Niall Horan and Reba McEntire and Kelsea Ballerini.

Kentuckiana was very well-represented with Chris Stapleton taking home two awards for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year. Carly Pearce also got to make her first appearance as an artist at the show.

The show had an overwhelming theme of country music being used as a tool to bring people together no matter their differences. Many artists talked about this industry being like one big family who supports each other and empowers one another through the good and the bad.
