Tyler Greever joined WHAS11 in Louisville, KY in February of 2020 as a sports anchor/reporter. He aims to be passionate, informative, creative and engaging with content.
The way Tyler figured out he needed glasses as a kid was finding out he couldn’t read a scoreboard on TV. So that should tell you how much sports mean to him. He comes from a sports-crazed family in Virginia that grew up going to Baltimore Ravens home games and much more. The energy and passion of those atmospheres hooked him immediately, driving him to pursue a career in sports and marry it to his love of journalism. In his career, he’s been embedded in fierce in-state rivalries.
Tyler comes to Louisville from WIBW in Topeka, Kansas, where he was the Sports Director for a year and a half covering the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Washburn University, Emporia State University, Kansas City professional teams and local high schools.
Before that, he spent three years as a sports anchor/reporter for WJTV in Jackson, Mississippi, where he covered the University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, University of Southern Mississippi, Jackson State University, Alcorn State University and local high schools. Tyler graduated from the University of Missouri, where he also worked for KOMU as a sports/news anchor/reporter.
Multiple organizations have awarded Tyler for his reporting, anchoring and hosting. They include the Associated Press, Kansas City Press Club and Kansas Association of Broadcasters.
In his spare time, he loves to try new restaurants, so Louisville fits his appetite. He also likes to watch movies, play pickup basketball and cycle. Of course, he is still a sports fan, so you can always catch him watching a game somewhere.
