Tyler Emery is a multi-skilled journalist at WHAS11 in Louisville, KY, specializing in general assignment reporting.
She joined the team in October 2018, eager to call Louisville her new home. She says during her first visit to the city, she could tell it was just the place to be!
Not too far from home, she was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Rooting for Chicago sports is second nature and she’s also proud to say deep dish pizza really is that good. Growing up, Tyler developed an immense curiosity for the world, constantly asking questions. Following her dad’s usual advice of “go discover the answer,” she built the skills that led her to pursue a degree in journalism.
Tyler graduated with honors from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism- Television Reporting/ Anchoring. She worked at the local NBC affiliate KOMU for four years reporting, anchoring and producing. She also worked at a national digital outlet, Newsy, for two years as a live stream producer/ anchor and general assignment reporter.
Her favorite things include running (well, it’s a love/hate relationship), exploring all of the amazing restaurants Louisville has to offer, and baking gluten-free treats (they really are yummy, even without the flour!) She also loves to travel, with her most recent adventure backpacking around Europe.
