Abby joined the team in October of 2019 after two years of reporting and anchoring in South Bend, Indiana. During her time in the northern part of the Hoosier state she covered everything from a polar vortex to Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s run for president. She also produced two series, including a human-interest series highlighting the unsung heroes of Michiana.
Now, as her focus shifts to Kentuckiana, she’s excited to bring some of the same values to her new home: engaging with the community and telling the stories that make neighbors stronger. She believes in the power of journalism because she believes that no matter our differences, we can all relate on some level. Her passion for storytelling is fueled by her passion to be an advocate for those around her.
Abby is a Hoosier through-and-through! She was born and raised in central Indiana, graduated from Ball State University in 2017, and after two years of living in the northern end of the Hoosier state, she’s excited to get to know Indiana’s southern end.
If she’s not out telling stories, Abby loves to explore new places. Just before joining WHAS11, she spent two weeks traveling through Greece and Italy. Now she’s excited to explore what Kentuckiana has to offer. She loves almost any festival, is an avid hiker, and she’ll never turn down a restaurant suggestion.
