Kristin came to Louisville from WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. There she worked as the weekend evening anchor/reporter. In this role, Kristin was able to cover breaking news, severe storms and stories that impacted daily life. Kristin was first to report on a scandal involving a utility company paying actors to attend city council meetings and speak in favor of a $210 million gas plant. This story led to that utility company being fined $5 million. Kristin also has a vested interest where she works. In New Orleans, she created a segment called Neighborhood Heroes which highlighted ordinary people doing extraordinary things in their communities.
Prior to working in the Crescent City, Kristin worked as a reporter at WXYZ/WMYD in Detroit, Michigan which is her hometown. In the Motor City, she covered several national news stories including the corruption trial of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, the Renisha McBride murder case and the Flint water crisis.
Before venturing in front of the camera, Kristin spent some time behind the scenes. She worked as an associate producer for WDIV in Detroit and WTVG in Toledo, Ohio.
Kristin graduated cum laude from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Sociology.
She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Kristin is also a survivor of domestic violence. Hoping to make a difference in people’s lives, she spends a lot of time raising awareness about this type of abuse.
When Kristin is not at work, she’s most likely spending time with family and friends, reading, or volunteering in the community.
