Christina Sanjuan is a meteorologist for the First Alert Storm Team. She appears on GMK weekends at 6 a.m. as well as the WHAS11 Nighteam weekend evenings at 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
For Christina, WHAS11 was a homecoming. She is an Indiana native and tells us she is “over the moon” to be back. She graduated from the University of Louisville, where she majored in Atmospheric Science and minored in Environmental Analysis.
During her time at UofL, she served as the founder and President of the American Meteorological Society UofL student chapter, volunteered at the National Weather Service Louisville office, and best of all – she even interned with us in 2016!
Christina began her professional career on the Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama in 2017. She then headed west to Colorado Springs and worked there until returning to WHAS11 in October of 2022. She has covered everything from hurricanes and tornadoes, to extreme wind events and wildfires.
Christina loves thunderstorms and has never met a cheeseburger she didn’t like. She is a mother to two toddlers and a miniature Australian shepherd named Chicken.
Christina and her family look forward to many years serving Kentuckiana.
