LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Chris Gegg is News Director at WHAS11. He joined the team in August 2021. Before moving to Louisville, he was News Director at WVEC 13News Now in Norfolk, VA.
Prior to joining TEGNA, Chris was News Director at WRGB-TV in Albany, NY. Under his leadership, WRGB received the prestigious National Murrow Award for “Continuing Coverage.” The station was also awarded the Emmy for Daytime Newscast from the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
He was also News Director at WISN-TV in Milwaukee and WMTV in Madison, Wisconsin.
He began his career as a reporter at KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri. But he soon realized he preferred a behind-the-scenes role. Chris rose through the ranks as a line producer, having worked at television stations in Texas, Ohio, Florida, and Michigan.
