The furbaby Jesus sent me!

On November 4, 2007 my husband of 25 years passed away. We could never have children so I was desperately alone..I needed a little companion.
My search began. I knew I would know when I found the perfect companion. I knew I wanted to adopt, cause they would be as lonely as I was.
Finally on Nov. 21 the day before Thanksgiving I called the Heart Humane society one more time and ask the lady if she had any little dog for me yet. She said yes I just got one in and I believe she is made just for you.
I called my sister and we were on our way!
When we walked in, this dirty little ball of fur came right to me. I picked her up and fell in love, I saw it in her eyes, she needed me and I needed her.
I found out she had been rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri at the age of four. She was not adopted and so was sent to northern Indiana to a humane society, she was not adopted. Thus she was sent to southern Indiana to Heart Humane.
I named her Gracie Hope. Gracie for the grace of God sending her to me, Hope, for the hope we were giving each other.
I cannot in words express the love we have for each other. I tell people that Jesus and Randy (my late husband) went shopping and found Gracie for me. I also tell everyone I rescued her and she rescued me!
She has been such a blessing for me. She will just sit and stare at me, I read somewhere where a rescue dog will do that cause they are so happy and love their owners so much.
Gracie is such a good furbaby, she loves to dress up, she actually raises her arms to put her dresses on. She has a car seat, a doggie stroller and all the love she could ever want! She loves car rides, chewy bones, her Papa and granny too!
She never learned how to play or jump cause she was in a cage for four years producing puppies over and over.
She now has steps to get to the couch, clean carpet to run on, good food that is all hers only, fresh water daily. Regular baths and grooms. Tears come to my eyes at times watching her be so happy. Yes the Lord has been good to us and I praise Him for it!
