Harlan and his EIGHT brothers and sisters were born to a beautiful pair of Golden Retrievers in Louisiana. They were all big and healthy. Sadly, when they were just a month old, their mom died suddenly. The dog's owners, not professional breeders, did a great job feeding and nurturing them but they needed to find homes for them very quickly. At the same time of the tragic loss of their young mother, our beloved 11 year old dog, Yukon, passed away.
Crushed, we went to church and a friend, Sabrina, told us about what happened to her in law to be's dogs in Louisiana. She told her father in law to be, John what happened to our dog and that we would make great dog parents. He called us and sent us photos of the available pups. We picked out the one who looked like he needed a hug and and a home and John brought him up to Perryville, Kentucky because he was coming for a visit before the wedding of his son, Matt and our friend Sabrina.
It was love at first sight. He needed a home and we needed a new best friend. We will forever be grateful to Sabrina and John for our beautiful Harlan.
