The last day of the weekend, the last chance to get out and enjoy the lovely fall weather before it's back to the workweek grind. Last-minute decision to go out to the Falls of the Ohio in Clarksville, Indiana and try my hand at fishing.
Two dollars for parking, then it was a short walk from the Interpretive Center parking lot to the fossil beds, through the trees whispering in the cool breeze. The water level was low and surprisingly clear. I chose on the lower fossil beds and began my usual war with the fishies.
Small fish flashed and jumped near the banks, bigger splashes sounded farther out. After an hour of trying various baits and techniques, the only things I had hooked was my shirt and my bucket.
But the weather was perfect, the sunset glorious, the scenery beautiful and peaceful.
