We saved Maya from being destroyed at 6 weeks old. My husband and I went to the Awesome Flea market here in Shepherdsville on Fathers day. We didn't plan on getting any dogs or anything just walking around. Well, me and my two children were inside and my husband was outside and I called him to tell him about some boxer puppies since we already have a 2 year old male boxer. He told me to go outside because there were some puppies that were $10.00 dollars and ifthey don;t sell them all they were going to take them to a field and shoot them mind you these are 6 week old puppies that were just weaned off their mother. Well, we got there and they were the cutest little things ever ( Beagle/ Australian Shepherd MIxed). We were choosing which one to take so we looked at this other female but she wasnt energetic enough so we put her back. We Came across Maya she was pretty energetic so we asked to see her. We held Maya and put her down and she just ran all over the grass.We decided to take her.
We brought her home to my 2 year old Boxer Zeus and my 6 year old Chihuahua Pebbles well Zeus took her in right away and he acted as if he were mama and would actually let her take his teet. Until this day Zeus and Maya have been upseparablesince. Zeus takes really good care of Maya and if Pebbles gets out of line well Zeus is there to protect his baby girl.
Saving Maya is a blessing to us she loves going outside and running around in our yard, and loves to cuddle and still loves to chew on things.
