We have had it all during the month of March…tornadoes, snow and even record breaking temperatures! Over the past 2 weeks, temperatures have been above average. We even had 7 days in the 80s (record is 8 set in 1907). Even though we have been having these unusually warm temperatures, we could still see temperatures fall below freezing. The average date of the final 32 degree day is April 6th, although the latest 32 degree day ever fell on May 10th 1966.
So what is expected heading into April? As you can see below, the Climate Prediction Center has the above average temperatures continuing into April.
Although the CPC is predicting an above average April, the area has seen temperatures dramatically fall in the month of April after an unusually warm March…this has happened in 1907 and 2007. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen!
