HENRYVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Thorntons is teaming up with the group "Projects with Purpose" to build new homes for families in Henryville.
Volunteers spent the day cutting wood that will be used to construct eight homes for families who lost theirs in the March 3 tornado.
That way everything will be ready to go when 500 volunteers from Thorntons show up Sunday for a building blitz.
"Working with March 2 Recovery we've identified eight families in Southern Indiana who lost their homes in those tornadoes so we're gonna rebuild eight homes in the parking lot here on Sunday. we'll frame those homes, load them on trucks and ship them up to Henryville,” Bill Coleman, VP of Projects with Purpose, said.
The team is also building 10 sheds that will be given to other homeowners in Henryville.
