LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- No rain in the area tonight, just plenty of sunshine and things are heating up outside.

These hot temps are bringing the first air quality alert of the year.

The Metro Air Pollution Control District and Indiana Department of Environmental Management say the air could be unhealthy for sensitive groups, including the elderly, children, those with asthma or other breathing problems like those with heart and lung disease.

To help the air on air quality alert days, you can avoid idling your car, carpool, delay your mowing and combine your errands.
