There is still a lot of uncertainty with the storm moving through tomorrow into Monday. Models are bouncing back and forth with the position of the low which is making it so difficult to pin down possible snowfall amounts. Besides the track of the low, we also have to take into account the warmer surface temps from the nice weather today! Snow may melt on contact for a while before starting to stick which would take accumulations down.
Here is the break down:
8AM Sunday: A chilly rain for most of the area mixing in with sleet. Jackson, Jennings and Lawrence counties may see a mix of rain and snow.
2PM Sunday: Chilly rain for most with a rain and snow mix for our far northern counties.
8PM Sunday: All snow in southern Indiana with a wintry mix in the metro. South of I-64 will remain a chilly rain.
8AM Monday: All snow for the entire area as the colder air filters in. The morning commute may be tricky. Plan for extra time to get to work and school!
Taking everything into account, here is what I think will happen:
Again, THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE! A jog 50 miles south will bring the heavier snow in the area. If it's a track further north, we may not get much at all! Tune in tomorrow morning starting at 6AM for an updated forecast. And we will always keep you updated on Facebook and Twitter!
