LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)— The much anticipated grand opening of Trader Joe’s will happen Friday Oct. 28. After a push from Facebook users, Louisville residents now have access to the specialty grocery chain.
Store shelves are being stocked right now and the finishing touches are being put on artwork on the walls. The manager of Trader Joe's says they can't release how many jobs were brought to the area, but he said that 85 percent of the staff is local.
Trader Joe's is well known for its food from all over the world, the workers who wear Hawaiian shirts and of course their "Two Buck Chuck" wine. It's called Charles Shaw and is $2.99 per bottle.
The official opening will take place at 8 a.m on Friday. WHAS11’s Brooke Katz got a sneak peek of the new store located at 4600 Shelbyville Rd. on Wednesday.
