CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The man accused of killing a mother of five in Clarksville was in court Friday.
Ronald Shewmaker had his first initial appearance in court after being charged with killing Lisa McQuirt.
McQuirt's family says that Shewmaker met her at a club in Louisville where she worked and became obsessed with her. A court document says that Shewmaker was known as McQuirt's "money man" and he visited the club every day.
He is accused of letting the air out of the tires in her car before fatally shooting her.
Shewmaker's court appearance had been delayed because he was in the hospital. Neither party would discuss what medical condition led to that delay.
