LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Low-wage earners would get their money back for tolls to cross the Ohio River if legislation introduced on Friday passes the Kentucky General Assembly.

Under the bill in 2015 anyone who is eligible for the federal earned income tax credit whose job requires them to cross the Ohio River could be reimbursed the cost of tolls.

Public transportation vehicles, such as Tarc busses, would also be exempt from tolls.

There has been no official word on how much the tolls will be but they are necessary to help pay for the new East End and downtown bridges.
