LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Jamie Young is number 62; he is the 62nd homicide victim in metro Louisville this year. It was gun violence that killed him two days before 2013.
But Jamie Young is not just a number. He is a neighbor, a son and a father of six children, according to his family.
He lived in a home in West Louisville at 23rd and Dumesnil Streets. It's where he would spend his last moment alive.
Young’s next-door neighbor tells WHAS 11 News she heard three gunshots at his home. By the time police and emergency crews arrived on scene around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 39-year-old Jamie Young was already dead.
His family removed Young’s personal belongings in sadness from his home the day after he was killed, just one week before his 40th birthday.
Police have not released a motive for his murder, but say it was not a home invasion.
No arrests have been made or suspects identified in this case.
