LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A woman struck by a car near the 5100 block of Dixie Highway Tuesday afternoon has died.

The accident happened in the parking lot of a strip mall. The 62-year-old woman was backed over by a red car driven by her sister.

"At first it just looked like a bunch of clothes and then we noticed it was a body on the ground behind that red car," said Jennifer Grigsby, who works in a medical office near the accident.

The woman was transported to University Hospital but later died from injuries.

The two sisters are active members of the Beechmont Baptist Church. Pastor Derek Yelton said the sisters lives together and had belonged to the church nearly all their lives.

Pastor Yelton said the 62 year-old woman sat in the same pew every Sunday.

"There will be an empty place this Sunday morning, but our prayers and thoughts are with her, we know that she is with the lord and with that we find peace even in the middle of this tragic situation," said Yelton.

The victim's sister is not going to face any charges. Police say it was just an unfortunate accident.
